WILDWOOD BANJOS
These magnificent instruments are handmade by renowned banjo builder Mark Platin, of Bend, Oregon. The superb craftsmanship and attention to detail is reminiscent of banjos made 100 years ago! What a great treasure, to find these in today's modern world!

The Heirloom--This delightful instrument was created to possess that old-timey sound of the pricey vintage banjos of yesteryear. Mark has chosen the most beautiful Flamed Maple for the neck, and the fine, smooth Ebony fretboard and peghead are hand-inlaid and engraved using vintage designs in exquisite Mother-of-Pearl. The hard-rock Maple block-style rim features a Tubaphone-style tone ring, with a bracket shoe band which gives this banjo a warmer sound, with increased volume and sustain. Can't you just picture yourself playing clawhammer/frailing on this wonderfully traditional banjo?!!

The Custom Artist, Birdseye Maple--RARE! RARE! RARE! You will be hard-pressed to find more beautiful Birdseye Maple than is used on this instrument! Mark Platin chose the black binding with white pinstripes against the handsome wood purfling because he thought it looked "sexy"!(WooHoo!) Here is a Bluegrass banjo that delivers a clear tone with style, volume, and great character!!

The Artist, Flamed Maple--Although this Maple is not as rare as Birdseye, it surely is very beautiful to look at! The Ebony fingerboard and peghead are inlaid with Mother-of-Pearl and gorgeous red Abalone! This banjo has a "flat head style" tone ring composed of an 87% Bronze alloy, which gives it a classic balance of bass range and treble, with maximum power and volume! If you are looking for a traditional banjo, this is a hard-driving workhorse designed to make serious bluegrass music!!

DEERING BANJOS

The Tenbrooks Saratoga Star Are you looking for the finest banjo on Planet Earth? There is no question about which banjo you should get! Greg Deering's "Tenbrooks" series, the "Saratoga Star" features a gorgeous curly Maple neck and Resonator, and the world-renowned Jens Kruger tone-ring.(You may know that a famous thoroughbred, "Tenbrooks", won by an overwhelming margin, in one of the most memorable horse races ever to take place at the Kentucky Derby, in 1878! This banjo is just like its namesake, who outdistanced all rivals!) The tone-ring is hand-cast at the Swiss Ruetschi Bell Foundry, which has over 600 years experience in bell-casting! The evenly-crystallized molecules create the very exceptional sound this ring produces. This banjo has a lively voice, with great sustain and even tonality from string to string, and all the way up the neck.

The Custom Greg Deering Limited We had this amazing banjo further customized when we had Greg choose the very finest figured Maple for the resonator and neck. This makes for a much more traditional Bluegrass sound from this extraordinary banjo! This banjo features multi-colored Abalone pearl, which is inlaid alongside the Ivoroid binding. Intricate Abalone and Mother-of-pearl inlays adorn the genuine Ebony fingerboard and peghead. This banjo features the famous Deering, hand-cast, bell-bronze tone ring, along with Zinc flange construction. This instrument can be heard over all the other banjos at a jam,and on stage it will really make heads turn!!

The Golden Era
This banjo is designed to reproduce the most sought-after 5-string banjos of the pre-war era. The beautiful curly Maple is finished with a vintage sunburst color. The Golden Era Pearl fingerboard inlays are stunning. This handsome, and traditional banjo has the genuine Deering 20-hole tone ring, for a crisp, loud Bluegrass tone!

The Maple Blossom This is an excellent banjo, with a crisp, clear tone. The hard, rock Maple neck, and resonator are stained a Walnut color! This banjo possesses the bell-bronze tone ring, as well as zinc flanges. The feel of the binding against the slender neck shape make for very comfortable playing.

The pot utilizes a steel rim construction. This 6-string banjo creates excellent note distinction and sparkling clarity, which makes for an ideal recording and performing instrument! (Also, it's LOTS of fun!!)

The Red Fox Deluxe This astounding banjo features beautifully engraved, genuine Gold, matte finish on all the hardware! The tailpiece is tastefully engraved with the now-famous Fox head, and the armrest sports engraved leaves. The finest fancy curly Maple graces this instrument in a Vintage Shaded Sunburst finish. Inside the resonator is the Lost Timbre Block Wood banjo rim, specially commissioned by Goeff Stelling and installed on all his banjos! On the back of the resonator is an attractive ring of hand-inlaid wood marquetry! The Red Fox in the peghead and the gorgeous abalone pearl, fingerboard leaf inlays make this a very striking model, both in sound and appearance.!

The Red Fox Here is the same marvelous banjo, only with nickel plated hardware, but no engraving, and a handsome, warm, reddish-brown stain on the neck and resonator. Again, that wily Fox makes another appearance, inlaid with the same beautiful pearl, in the headstock. The Block Wood tone rim is not for the timid banjo player--you WILL stand out!! There is no Bluegrass banjo player alive who would not be proud to own this instrument!

The Virginian Goeff and Sherry Stelling live in the in the majestic Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia; it's only natural that they would create an exquisite banjo to honor the region, as well as all the noteable banjo players who claim Virginia as their home! This model features the Cardinal (Virginia's state bird), inlaid on the headstock. The state flower, the Dogwood blossom, accents the fingerboard. Finally, there is striking abalone trim on the neck and resonator, which are made with fancy curly Maple! The Old Wood Tone Rim gives this banjo dramatic volume, full tone, and great clarity!

The Swallowtail Goeff created this model to capture the beauty of nature, inlaying the swallow, oak leaf, acorn, and closed knot in the fingerboard. The Swallow itself is inlaid in Abalone and Mother-of-Pearl both in the headstock, and on the back of the resonator. Neck and resonator feature curly Maple that is stained with a sunburst Cremona-style finish similar to the Virginian! Bluegrass tradition really shines on this banjo!

The Golden Cross The late, great Don Reno played this model during the last 10 years of his life. The cross inlaid in the headstock matches the golden sunburst used to stain the fancy curly Maple on the neck and resonator. In addition, purfling is inlaid along the neck and resonator binding! The Maple Block Wood rim is virtually gluelessWhat a blessing this banjo could give your life!!

The Sunflower Here is an outstanding example of understated elegance in a banjo. Then, add the fabulous Tony Pass tone rim, and luscious curly Maple to the neck and resonator, and finish it with the shaded, Cremona-styled sunburst stain.
